Accessibility Audit Program
I'm excited to share the Accessibility Audit Program (AAP) with you! I leveraged my 18 year former career as a bank examiner who audited various areas of banks and as needed, developed my own procedures when ones did not exists to develop a program for you to use as needed.
Why I developed the AAP
I developed the AAP because if accessibility audit programs exists, they're either behind paywalls or are the property of a company. I believe that we all need guidance and by opening up this program, This is the first iteration with a focus on the data experience for the viewer/audience/consumer.
Why you might need an audit
Audits sound scary. You can use this program however you like, whether it's an audit completed by an independent person with accessibility expertise or a self-assessment (you follow the procedures to see how your level of compliance). You might need an audit because you want to establish trust in your data experience. You also might need an audit because you need to comply with company or regulatory requirements.
I need an audit or an assessment, but no one has the expertise, what do I do?
It's okay, Accessibility is an emerging area for data experiences, so it's not uncommon that you or someone in your organization doesn't have this expertise. I'm helping organizations understand how accessible their data experiences are and learn how to build better experiences. Feel free to hit me up over LinkedIn, Twitter, or if you want to speak face-to-face, we can do that too.
